Society for Name Studies in Britain and Ireland: membership

Membership of the society is open to all who are interested in the study of names. As a member, you are entitled to copies of the journal Nomina, two newsletters per year, and reduced rates at the society’s spring and autumn conferences. The present membership of around 200 is drawn mainly from England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. We also have members in Denmark, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, USA, and Japan.


The subscription year runs from January 1 to December 31. Annual membership subscriptions are individual £20, family £25, and student £5. If you choose to pay by standing order, you will qualify for slightly lower rates: individual £18 and family £23. Please enquire at secretary at to set up a standing order.
